A ten-day’s seminar of Skobeev was finished
( from the 25th of Jul till the 5th of Aug 2005 )

From 25 July to 5 August 2005, I had the opportunity to take part in a
two-week seminar of RRB in Moscow. For four hours each day, I trained with
Russian military and non-military students of Mr Igor Georgievich Skobeev.
The seminar was a very enriching experience not only from a martial arts
perspective but from a human one as well.

Mr Skobeev is top-notch in his field
and the methodology used to teach me basic techniques and exercises was
very professional and efficient. I trained one-on-one with several of
his students in sequence as we practised the various techniques. At each
training session, I was shown how to escape from several different types
of holds, how to roll and fall down on hard surfaces, how to strike,
how do disarm an assailant armed with a knife or handgun, how
strengthen the body naturally and how to improve my endurance.
Mr Skobeev`s students are highly qualified, patient, open and generous.
We repeated techniques over and over again until I was able to properly
apply them. I was impressed with their ability to feel the inner workings
of my anatomical structure, to sense the location of my centre of gravity
and assess the right amount of energy needed to apply the techniques
effectively. All of them had grips of steel, which made the task of
releasing from holds quite an interesting experience. I look forward
to training again with them under Mr Skobeev`s supervision next year.
I would like to thank Mr Skobeev and his students at the International
Federation of Hand-to-Hand Fighting for their efforts to promote RRB in
Russia and in other countries.
